For children, roughly ages five to eleven, we run interactive lessons covering brushing and flossing technique, how sugar and acid affect enamel, and what to expect at the dentist. We use models, demonstrations, and games, so students leave having practiced rather than just listened. These sessions run thirty to forty five minutes and fit inside a standard class period.

For older adults, we build sessions around the fact that oral health needs change with age while the resources rarely follow. We cover denture and partial care, dry mouth caused by common medications, gum disease, and how to keep up a routine when dexterity or vision makes it harder. These run about forty five minutes.

Across both audiences we teach what people are entitled to expect from dental care: the right to ask questions, to understand a treatment plan before consenting, to an interpreter, and to know what a visit will cost. Knowing how to navigate a system is part of being able to use it, so we build this into every session rather than teaching it separately.
